GEORGE FOWLER Tennis Award

George Fowler was a tennis enthusiast who worked tirelessly for 28 years as a volunteer to promote North York tennis at the club, city and provincial levels. He was particularly interested in encouraging children and youth to participate in the sport of tennis.  To honour his memory, the North York Tennis Association has created a scholarship.

Every year, ten worthy children, between the ages of 5 and 14 and with no formal tennis training, are selected for a week of free tennis lessons at the NYTA Junior Tennis Academy.  All young tennis enthusiasts are encouraged to apply for this wonderful opportunity! To be eligible, an application must be completed and forwarded to Adam Caplan at the NYTA office by May 1st. As well, the children must live in the area serviced by the North York Tennis Association.  (Roughly Steeles to Lawrence and Victoria Park to the Etobicoke border)
